K5 Overview The Kia K5 was already one of the strongest offerings in the midsize sedan segment, but it gets big updates for 2025, with a new 2.5-liter engine, redesigned headlights and taillights, fresh interior tech, and a 12.3-inch center touchscreen.
The previously standard turbocharged 1.6-liter engine is replaced with a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine, increasing output to a respectable 191 horsepower. For drivers desiring a sportier experience, the 290-hp turbocharged Kia K5 GT provides plenty of grunt. The new headlights and taillights aren't a radical styling change, but they do sharpen the corners of the K5's design a bit, adding to its sporty look on every trim level.
Inside, the K5's center console has a new layout and new cupholders, but the party piece is the new touchscreen. A 12.3-inch touchscreen is now standard across all K5 models, with a 12-inch digital gauge cluster available on upper trim levels. Tech features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now included on all K5s, as are a number of safety and convenience features like front- and rear-parking sensors. The K5 is reasonably priced for the segment, and it's available with all-wheel drive, a rare option in the class.

The K5's interior is thoughtfully designed to be user-friendly. Despite the many electronic features, all the controls are well labeled and logically placed and there was no need to consult the owner's manual.
The cabin is relatively spacious too, with a modest amount of headroom but an abundance of legroom. Tall adults should have no problem fitting up front, though. Forward visibility is great thanks to unusually narrow front roof pillars. Rear visibility is squeezed a bit by a tall rear decklid, but it doesn't create any notable obstructions.Â

The 2025 Kia K5 gets a new 12.3-inch infotainment system across all trim levels. The system includes HD Radio, AM/FM/MP3, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and a rearview camera. The GT-Line, EX, and GT trims get navigation and wireless device charging. All models provide four USB-C charging ports (two front and two rear) while the EX and GT models have an additional center-console USB-C charging port. The premium 12-speaker Bose audio system has a subwoofer and external amplifier. A 4.2-inch color driver-information panel is standard, but EX models get a new 12.3-inch digital tachometer that's also available as an option on the GT.Â

How does the 2025 K5 Handle on the Road?
The 2025 Kia K5 has two engine choices. The LXS, GT-Line, and EX get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 191 horsepower. The K5's standard power plant is teamed with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available with the standard engine but only on the GT-Line trim.
